“All PDP Plans To Attack APC Senators Has Been Unveiled” Senate Presidency
The active party APC, has lamented about their opponent party of preparatory to negatively visit the members of APC in the Nigeria senate.
In a released statement by the acting publicity secretary Yekini Nabeda, the active party said the agenda is for the PDP senators in the national assembly to fight against the APC senators in other for Bukola Saraki to continue as President of the Senate.
The active party in fear called out on the security agents to put Saraki and the PDP responsible to any negative effect done to the APC senators.
Read the statement below
Our attention has been drawn to sinister plans by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to attack some All Progressives Congress (APC) Senators as part of the PDP’s desperate bid to ensure that Dr. Bukola Saraki clings to the position of Senate President.
By this statement, we call on security agents to protect APC Senators. If any Senator is harmed, the PDP and Saraki should be held directly responsible. We call on security agencies to also closely monitor the activities of some PDP leaders including Saraki because the plan to attack APC Senators is real and imminent.
We were informed that the plot was hatched in the private residence of a PDP leader in Maitama-Abuja on Sunday night. The meeting was attended by 15 pro-Saraki Senators including the Senate President himself.
We learnt that the PDP expressed worry over the APC’s Senate majority and considered several options to stop the APC from taking over the Senate leadership among which is attacking some APC Senators to ensure their inability to attend legislative sittings.
The PDP have recruited thugs for this purpose, we have now learnt.
“During Sunday’s meeting, the PDP Senators planned several types of attack, one of which is to lure some of them (APC Senators) out at night in the guise of inviting Senators to a political settlement meeting and thereafter instigate a violent confrontation during the meeting and unleash standby PDP thugs on APC Senators” Our source privy to the meeting informed us.
This revelation has not come to us as a surprise because the Senate President through proxies has made several failed attempts to buy over APC Senators with N100million each.
As a Party, we don’t believe in inducing lawmakers to achieve our legitimate goal of removing Saraki as Senate President. We will get the support of some PDP Senators to get the required 2/3 vote and impeach Saraki. We are already talking to some of PDP Senators who believe and support the direction of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration to achieve our legitimate goal.
We reiterate our call for Saraki’s immediate resignation as Senate President. He cannot lead the APC majority Senate. But if he fails to resign honourably, we will impeach him. The PDP’s propaganda and threat of violence cannot save him.
National Assembly reconvening
As Chairman of the 8th National Assembly, Saraki’s decision not to reconvene the National Assembly done with the support of the Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara further buttresses our position the Saraki is ever ready to pursue his selfish interests over National Interest. This is another brazen display of his penchant for abuse of powers and sabotage of government, however the cost and implication.
While Saraki and his cohorts continue to postpone their doomsday regarding the imminent Senate leadership change, the yet-to-be considered 2019 budget of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is dangerously delayed.
Clearly, Saraki’s actions as Senate President now bother on high treason.

Support Tinubu to move Nigeria forward – Abdullahi Sule tells Obi
Abdullahi Sule, governor of Nasarawa, has appealed to Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 elections, to support President Bola Tinubu to succeed.
Sule spoke on Monday when Obi visited him in Lafia, the state capital.
The governor maintained that elections were over, adding that the president alone cannot address the challenges confronting the nation.
He said Tinubu needed all the necessary support, adding that well-meaning citizens like Obi can contribute to bring the country back on track.
“I know you have the experience, competence and capacity to support the president in the overall interest of the country,” Sule said.
“The president is your friend and colleague, we were all in Lagos at some point, and as such you need to contribute your quota to the development of the country.”
The governor praised Obi for drilling boreholes in some communities in the state, noting that the gesture complemented the government’s efforts to alleviate people’s suffering.
Speaking earlier, Obi said the visit was part of his nationwide tour to provide support to Nigerians during Ramadan.
“I am not desperate to be president of this country, but I am desperate to see Nigeria work for the good of all,” he said.
“I always commend people when they do well because politics to me is not about being negative every time.”
Obi commended Sule for constructing new roads in the state, which he said gave it a new appearance.

Budget padding: Step down immediately, PDP tells Akpabio
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked Senate President Godswill Akpabio to “immediately step aside” and allow for an independent investigation into the allegation that the 2024 appropriation act was padded by N3 trillion.
At the weekend, Abdul Ningi, senator representing Bauchi central, stirred controversy when he alleged that the 2024 budget was padded by N3 trillion and that the country is operating two budgets concurrently.
On Tuesday, the allegation was debated at the “committee of the whole” of the red chamber, amid a rowdy session.
Subsequently, the senator was suspended for three months.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the PDP said Akpabio is not fit to continue as senate president.
‘WE STAND WITH NINGI’
The PDP condemned Ningi’s suspension, saying there was no detailed investigation of the claims raised by the lawmaker.
“The PDP firmly condemns the suspension of Senator Abdul Ningi by the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership in the Senate without a detailed inquest into the issue of budget padding which he raised,” the statement issued by Debo Ologunagba, PDP spokesperson, reads.
The party said Ningi’s suspension is “apparently a desperate move to suppress investigation, conceal and sweep the facts under the carpet”.
The PDP said the senate should have referred the claim to a standing committee for an open investigation in line with the extant rules of the senate.
“What is the APC senate leadership afraid of and what is it hiding from Nigerians?” the party asked.
“It is even more absurd that instead of recusing himself, the Senate President sat as a judge in the matter; a situation that has the capacity to bring the institution of the Senate to further public disrepute.
“This is especially as the issues at hand heavily border on alleged gross misconduct and criminal betrayal of public trust which are serious offences under our laws.”
The PDP said the lack of a thorough investigation of the claim has smeared the image of the senate.
“Our Party therefore stands with Senator Ningi for his courage in seeking probity and accountability in the polity,” the opposition party said.
