Ekiti driver says he borrowed N3.5m to support Tinubu, Bamidele, Fatoba campaigns
An Ekiti State mini-truck driver, Adeleye Adeniyi, says he has borrowed N3.5 million to support the re-election campaigns of President Bola Tinubu, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and Ekiti State lawmaker Steve Fatoba.
Adeniyi, popularly known as “Online Loan Man for BAO,” disclosed the move in an interview circulating on Friday.
He displayed a cardboard cheque showing proposed allocations of N2 million for Tinubu, N1 million for Bamidele and N500,000 for Fatoba.
Driver explains support for politicians
Adeniyi said his decision was motivated by his assessment of the politicians’ performance in office.
He said he intended not only to contribute financially but also to campaign for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
His claims about government achievements and the politicians’ performance represent his personal political views and should be treated as such.
He also praised Bamidele and Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji over projects and policies involving education, healthcare, electricity and rural infrastructure.
Adeniyi appealed to Nigerians to support Tinubu’s second-term bid, expressing his belief that another term would deliver further benefits.
Not his first loan-funded political gesture
The driver previously attracted attention in February after reports that he borrowed through digital lending platform OPay to brand a vehicle in support of Governor Oyebanji’s re-election bid.
Adeniyi operates around the BAO Timber Market on Ilawe Road in Ado-Ekiti.
His latest intervention comes as political mobilisation gradually intensifies ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.
