Barcelona captain Raphinha will miss the club’s upcoming matches against Getafe and Galatasaray after suffering a hamstring problem while on international duty with Brazil.

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick confirmed on Friday that medical examinations had identified an injury, although he described it as relatively minor.

Flick said the club was being particularly cautious because Raphinha has experienced recurring muscular problems.

The Brazilian will not feature when Barcelona host Getafe in La Liga on Saturday, October 10.

He will also miss Tuesday’s Champions League trip to Istanbul to face Galatasaray.

Barcelona’s official October schedule confirms the Getafe match at Spotify Camp Nou and the Champions League fixture against Galatasaray on October 13.

Flick criticised the demands placed on players during international breaks after Raphinha picked up the problem while playing for Brazil in a friendly in Australia.

The Barcelona coach said the injury itself was not regarded as major but noted that the club wanted to avoid aggravating the problem.

Raphinha suffered several muscular setbacks last season and was also injured while playing for Brazil during the 2026 World Cup.

The 29-year-old has been used more centrally by Barcelona this season and has made an exceptional start in front of goal.

According to Vanguard’s report, he has scored 14 goals in eight appearances across all competitions, making him the leading scorer among players in Europe’s major leagues at this stage of the season.

Barcelona are unbeaten in La Liga and currently lead the standings by five points over Atletico Madrid.

Raphinha’s availability beyond the Galatasaray fixture will depend on his recovery.
