Mavin Records unveils latest signee Lifesize Teddy
Mavin Records, the music label founded by Don Jazzy, has announced their latest signing Lifesize Teddy.
On Wednesday, the label’s head honcho took to his Instagram page to unveil the female rapper.
Don Jazzy revealed that Lifesize Teddy is a graduate of the Mavin Academy and a “testament of faith and hard work”.
He also accompanied the post with a video wherein the songstress was handed the record label’s treasure box.
“Unveiling a new artist is a reminder of how an artist have let themselves go through the laid down process of the Mavin academy, the testament of our faith in them and the coming together of our hard work,” he wrote.
“With the power vested in me by the Supreme Mavin Dynasty It’s my pleasure to introduce you to Mavin’s latest signee. Rapper, poet, singer and songwriter Lifesize Teddy, Pls follow and welcome @lifesize_teddy”

Ibrahim Yekini, Layi Wasabi, Tana Adelana… here are first-time AMVCA nominees
The 10th edition of the African Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) is set to take place on May 11, 2024, at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos.
In March, the organizers announced the nomination list ahead of this year’s event which usually celebrates outstanding achievements across the film and entertainment industry.
TheCable Lifestyle examines the first-time nominees seeking to clinch awards in the 2024 AMVCA scheduled for Saturday.
1. Tana Adelana
Tana began her career as a TV presenter but eventually delved into acting and burst onto the scenes for her role in ‘Disclosure’, the drama series. She has since been featured in movies such as ‘Two Brides and a Baby’, ‘Under the Carpet’, ‘Ijeawele’, ‘The Bling Lagosians’ and ‘The Influencer’.
Adelana finally received her first AMVCA nomination this year in the ‘Best Supporting Actress’ category for her role in ‘Ijogbon: The Chaos’.
2. Ibrahim Yekini
Yekini, also known as Itele D Icon, is popular in the Yoruba movie industry. Having a career spanning over a decade, it is rather surprising that the actor is just receiving his first AMVCA nomination.
Itele was nominated in the ‘Best Supporting Actor’ category for his role as Gbogunmi in Femi Adebayo’s ‘Jagun Jagun: The Warrior’.
3. Ademola Adedoyin
Demola’s role in ‘October 1st’, the 2014 movie by Kunle Afolayan, marked a turning point in his illustrious career. He would further showcase his acting prowess in “King of Boys’, ‘The Bridge’, ‘God Calling’ and ‘Ile Owo’.
His hard work finally paid off as he was also nominated in the ‘Best Supporting Actor’ category for his role in ‘Breath of Life’.
4. Layi Wasabi
Since bursting onto the scenes with his creative and humorous content, Layi has continued to dominate the media space. For a first-time nominee, he bagged not one but two nominations in the same category but with different projects.
His skits ‘Medical Negligence’ and ‘Copyright Infringement’ earned him nominations in the ‘Best Digital Content’ category.
5. Adaobi Dibor
Adaobi Dibor bagged her first AMVCA nomination in the ‘Best Lead Actress’ category for the movie ‘Blood Vessel’.
The actress has also appeared in movies such as ‘Mamba’s Diamonds’, ‘My Flatmates’ and ‘Glamour Girls’.
6. David Ezekiel
The movie ‘Blood Vessel’ earned David Ezekiel his first AMVCA nomination in the ‘Best Lead Actor’ category.
The feat also makes him the youngest actor nominated in the category.

‘New Masquerade’ actress Ovularia dies at 81
Elizabeth ‘Ovularia’ Evoeme, the Nigerian actress famous for her role in the 80s TV sitcom ‘The New Masquerade’, has died at the age of 81.
The ace actress, in a statement shared by Seun Oloketuyi, the filmmaker, passed away on Sunday while being surrounded by her loved ones.
Justine Ngozi Evoeme, Ovularia’s daughter, described her death as “painful and shocking”.
The family of the deceased also said she was “a loveable person” who will be extremely missed.
“Friends, fans, colleagues, the family of the legendary actress, Elizabeth Lizzy ‘Ovularia’ Evoeme, would like to notify the public, all those who loved her and her work in ‘The new Masquerade, of her passing. Elizabeth ‘Ovularia’ Evoeme will be dearly missed and was extremely loved by her family and also by you, her fans,” the statement reads in part.
“We thank you all for your support and for respecting our privacy at this time. God bless you all and may our dear Elizabeth ‘Ovularia’ Evoeme rest in perfect peace, now and always.”
However, details of her death were not revealed.
In 2019, Ovularia was also rumoured to have died.
‘The New Masquerade’ was aired on the NTA on Tuesday nights from the mid-1970s until the mid-1990s. It started as a radio programme and was transmitted on the East Central State Broadcasting Corporation, Enugu.
The TV show was created and written by James Iroha who also participated in the sitcom.
