Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua confirmed for December 11 heavyweight showdown

British heavyweight rivals Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will finally meet in the ring after their long-awaited fight was officially confirmed for December 11, 2026.

The fight will take place at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, and will stream live globally on Netflix.

The bout will be the first professional meeting between the two former heavyweight world champions after years of unsuccessful negotiations.

Netflix confirmed the contest following an announcement by Saudi boxing official Turki Alalshikh, describing it as one of the biggest heavyweight fights of the generation.

The overall event has been widely reported as being worth close to $200 million, although the precise amount each fighter will receive has not been publicly confirmed.

Reports indicate Fury and Joshua signed separate contracts, meaning even the fighters may not know the exact financial terms agreed by the other side.

Joshua had reportedly insisted that the fight take place in the United Kingdom, with Cardiff ultimately selected after other locations including New York and Las Vegas were considered.

The Principality Stadium can accommodate more than 70,000 spectators and has a retractable roof, making it particularly suitable for a major boxing event in December.

Fury enters the contest with a professional record of 36 wins, two defeats and one draw, while Joshua has 30 wins and four defeats, according to Netflix’s official announcement.

Both fighters have headlined major heavyweight events throughout the past decade, but repeated attempts to stage an all-British showdown had previously collapsed.

Their December clash will now settle one of British boxing’s longest-running unanswered rivalries.
