Brad Pitt sues Angelina Jolie for ‘damaging reputation’ of their wine business

Brad Pitt, the Hollywood actor, has accused Angelina Jolie, his ex-wife, of damaging the reputation of their joint wine business.

The actor made the allegation through a fresh court filing in a battle with his celebrity ex-wife over the sale of her stake in their co-owned vineyard Miraval to a Russian oligarch.

According to People, the document was filed on Friday at the Los Angeles county superior court.

Pitt and Jolie previously co-owned Miraval but Jolie was said to have sold her half to the Russian oligarch Pitt described as a “stranger”.

In Pitt’s latest court filing, he claimed the actress “intentionally” sought to inflict harm on him by selling her interests.

The actor said they had agreed to never sell their respective interests in the business without the other’s consent.

He said Jolie planned to sell her interests in October to Tenute del Mondo, a firm he said is “bent on taking control of Miraval” and is “indirectly owned and controlled by Yuri Shefler, the Russian billionaire who controls the Stoli Group.”

“Jolie pursued and then consummated the purported sale in secret, purposely keeping Pitt in the dark, and knowingly violating Pitt’s contractual rights,” the filing from Pitt’s legal team was quoted as reading in part.

Pitt’s legal team further said Jolie’s business Nouvel owed Pitt’s company Mondo Bongo the right of first refusal.

He said the sale infringed on that right.

Pitt’s team said Shefler launched a hostile takeover of Miraval and is trying to get ahold of “confidential and proprietary information for the benefit of his competing enterprise.”

The filing also accused Shefler of having “cutthroat business tactics” that jeopardizes the reputation of Miraval.

“Jolie has sought to force Pitt into partnership with a stranger, and worse yet, a stranger with poisonous associations and intentions,” the filing further read.

It is understood that Pitt is seeking damages in an undisclosed amount and the nullification of the sale by Jolie.

Portable arrested by police over G-Wagon debt

Portable, the controversial singer, has been arrested by the Lagos state police command for allegedly failing to pay the debt he incurred after purchasing his G-Wagon from a car dealer.

The singer, born Habeeb Okikiola, was apprehended on Tuesday, Benjamin Hundeyin, the state police spokesperson, told TheCable Lifestyle.

“Yes, Portable has been arrested,” Hundeyin said.

The ‘Zazoo Zeh’ hitmaker was said to have bought the vehicle worth N27 million but paid only N13 million.

Portable allegedly refused to pay the remaining N14 million and whenever the car dealer requested for his money, he always claimed the vehicle was having issues.

The singer purchased the car last year and was once seen using the vehicle to distribute food items to children on the streets.

This is not the first time Portable will be arrested by the police. In March last year, the Ogun police arrested the singer over alleged assault.

The arrest came after the expiration of the 72-hour ultimatum given to him to turn himself in.

The singer previously resisted attempts by the police to arrest him and also referred to himself as “a federal government liability”.

Korra Obidi, the US-based Nigerian dancer, has attracted backlash on social media after announcing vacation plans to Hawaii — days after launching a GoFundMe account.

On Friday, Korra cried out for financial assistance to engage in a parental rights battle with Justin Dean, her ex-husband.

The entertainer claimed Dean obtained a court order prohibiting her from posting their two children on social media.

She initiated the GoFundMe campaign to cover the costs of challenging the court ruling and raised over $50,000 from over 950 donors worldwide.

On Sunday, during a Facebook live, the dancer announced that she was going to Hawaii for vacation, three days after she launched her campaign.

This however provoked a chorus of condemnation on social media platforms.

While many users accused Korra of scamming them, others slammed the people who donated money to her in the first place.
