The Supreme Court has announced its intention to issue a judgment regarding the appeals made by the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi on Thursday, October 26.

These appeals contest the results of the February 25 election, which ultimately declared Bola Tinubu as President.

The Director of Information of the Supreme Court, Dr Festus Akande, confirmed the date on Wednesday.

Both PDP and LP had on Monday argued their cases before the apex court while the appeal of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and its presidential candidate, Chichi Ojei, was dismissed after they withdrew it.

Both parties’ petitions were dismissed by the Presidential Election Petitions Court on September 6, citing a lack of evidence.

Nonetheless, Obi and Atiku decided to file appeals at the highest court in the country.
