Messi reaches 930 career goals as Inter Miami draw San Diego 2-2
Lionel Messi has reached 930 career goals after scoring in Inter Miami’s 2-2 Major League Soccer draw with San Diego FC.
The Argentine scored in the 24th minute with a free-kick after San Diego had taken the lead through Anders Dreyer in the 12th minute.
Messi curled a left-footed effort around the defensive wall and into the net to bring Miami level.
The goal was Messi’s 20th MLS goal of the 2026 season and the 75th direct free-kick goal of his career.
It also took him to 101 goals for Inter Miami, just days after he scored his 100th goal for the club in their Campeones Cup victory over Cruz Azul.
Luis Suárez put Inter Miami ahead in the 74th minute before Dreyer scored his second goal eight minutes later to secure a draw for San Diego.
The result extended Inter Miami’s run to four consecutive MLS draws.
Messi, now 39, continues to add to his career milestones following another trophy-winning performance with Inter Miami earlier in the week.
His latest goal leaves him on 930 career goals across club and international football, according to commonly cited career tallies
