Gbenga Daniel sends heartfelt message to Ogun state residents over flood disaster
I am troubled by reports of the flooding disaster in many parts of Sagamu following torrential rainfall. This devastation, which I am told has claimed at least a life, and destroyed properties and people’s livelihoods worth millions of naira, is one too many.
My heartfelt prayers are with all those who are affected by this unfortunate incident.
While I have instructed that some relief materials be made available to some of the victims via the Gateway Front Foundation, I call on the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to urgently come to our people’s aid.
As we continue to brace up against the challenges of climate change, we hope that the government will speed up negotiations with the Ecological Fund Office to fast-track a lasting solution to this environmental challenge
