
Sepp Blatter, 79, has led FIFA for years despite allegations of corruption against him and other top members of FIFA. Earlier in the year he bowed to pressure and tendered his resignation. However he has stayed on in his capacity as President until fresh elections in 2016.
A press statement by the office of the Attorney General stated the charges of “suspicion of criminal mismanagement and misappropriation.”
He is also being accused of making a”disloyal payment of $2 million dollars to UEFA President Michel Platini.
