The Federal Government has launched a new digital platform aimed at attracting investment into Nigeria’s tourism and creative industries as part of its plan to increase their contribution to the economy.

The initiative, known as the D30 Platform or Destination 2030, was unveiled in Abuja on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, by the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa.

According to the minister, the government is targeting a $100 billion contribution to Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product and the creation of more than three million jobs from the tourism and creative sectors by 2030.

D30 platform to improve investment opportunities

Musawa explained that the platform would bring together information about Nigeria’s cultural assets, tourism destinations, creative businesses and investment opportunities.

She said inadequate access to reliable industry data had made it difficult for investors and policymakers to assess the full economic potential of the country’s tourism and creative sectors.

The D30 initiative is designed to address this challenge by providing economic intelligence that can support investment decisions, infrastructure planning and business expansion.

The platform will cover several industries, including music, film, fashion, visual arts, literature, cultural heritage and hospitality.

It will also provide information about tourism infrastructure, creative professionals and government initiatives.

Government seeks three million jobs by 2030

Musawa said the platform forms part of the government’s broader economic diversification strategy.

She noted that Nigeria’s growing international recognition in music, film and fashion presents opportunities for investment, employment and tourism development.

However, the minister acknowledged that achieving the government’s targets would require improved infrastructure, stronger institutions, private investment and effective collaboration among stakeholders.

The Federal Government is working with Cavista Technologies, a subsidiary of Cavista Holdings, on the development of the platform.

The company has contributed technical expertise and private funding to the project.

Permanent Secretary Abdulkarim Ozi also emphasised the importance of reliable data in helping businesses identify opportunities and supporting government planning.

The ministry encouraged state governments, industry associations, researchers and private-sector organisations to contribute information that would improve the platform’s usefulness.

The success of Destination 2030 will depend on how effectively its data translates into investment, business expansion and employment opportunities.
