Elon Musk’s ex-wife alleges he cut daughter Vivian’s health insurance after she came out as transgender
Elon Musk’s former wife, Justine Wilson, has alleged that the billionaire removed their daughter Vivian Jenna Wilson from his health insurance shortly after she came out as transgender.
Justine made the claim while participating in Musk, a documentary about the Tesla and SpaceX chief by filmmaker Alex Gibney.
Speaking about the breakdown of the relationship between Musk and Vivian, Justine said her daughter had been hurt by public comments Musk made about her transition.
She alleged that Musk asked her to tell Vivian that he would always love her but cancelled her health insurance the following day.
The allegation represents Justine Wilson’s account of events. Musk has not publicly confirmed that version of what happened.
Vivian, now 22, has been publicly estranged from her father for several years. She filed to legally change her name and gender in 2022 and dropped the Musk surname.
Musk has previously spoken publicly about the breakdown of their relationship and has strongly criticised the documentary, describing it as a “hit piece.” He did not participate in the production.
The documentary is scheduled for a wider release on October 16, 2026.
