Dammy Krane has petitioned Kayode Egbetokun, the inspector general of police, over his lingering dispute with Davido.

The feud between the pair started in October 2023 after Krane called out Davido on social media, claiming he owed him for songwriting contributions.

Krane also accused the ‘Assurance’ hitmaker of sabotaging his record deal with Sony Music.

In response to the allegations, Davido labeled Krane “ungrateful” and claimed he received no payment for their collaborations. Davido also mentioned that he provided shelter and support for Krane when he was homeless.

Since then, Krane has continued to attack Davido on social media; even accusing him of being involved in the death of his friend Tagbo Umeike. Tagbo died from alleged alcohol poisoning in October 2017.

Davido dismissed claims and threatened to sue Krane for “defamation of character and cyberbullying”.

In a letter posted on his social media pages, Krane accused Davido of several wrongdoings while addressing five key concerns.

The singer alleged that Davido and his allies are threatening his life. He also called for the re-opening of Tagbo’s death case.

Krane pleaded with the inspector-general to help lift the restrictions on his bank accounts, which he claimed made it difficult for him to access his funds.

The singer also appealed to Egbetokun to get Davido to “pay me all the money he owed for the song ‘Pere’”.

He claimed Davido agreed to pay him $500,000 for their collaborative song but has refused to pay him.

DJ Neptune addresses Laycon’s claim of unpaid royalty

DJ Neptune, the Nigerian disc jockey born Imohiosen Patrick, has addressed a fraudulent claim made by singer Laycon.

Last month, the rapper and former BBNaija winner called out the disc jockey over alleged unpaid royalties for their collaboration.

Laycon claimed the entertainer has yet to pay him his “agreement and split” for ‘Nobody (Icons remix)’. The reality star also frowned over the apparent “silence from Neptune for four years”.

But in a recent episode of the ‘Zero Conditions’ podcast, Neptune, while expressing disappointment in Laycon for calling him out on social media, stressed that he did not defraud the singer.

The entertainer said the issue stems from documentation. He said the song’s distribution deal included advanced marketing expenses that needed to be recouped.

Neptune also argued that Laycon’s team was offered a percentage of the royalties, but they declined the offer.

“Laycon is my brother regardless. Let me just establish here that nobody ate anybody’s money. I want to believe that you know the music business,” he said.

“When you have a deal with a distro company or a label and you’re being given advanced marketing money to push the music, the video, or whatnot. They have to recoup. It’s a return on investment.

“So that’s where we are with ‘Nobody Icons’ Remix’. What Laycon is fighting for is the documentation. In all fairness to him, he reached out to me. So it wasn’t like anyone was cheating anyone. When Laycon reached out to me, I referred to my legal team. I even asked him for his lawyer’s contact which he sent to me and I forwarded it to them.

“I’m not a legal personnel. I’m a creative. I have to perform and take care of my family. So I have put this in the hands of people who will handle it. And then there was a conversation that was ongoing — between our lawyers]. So I guess, maybe my fault was not going back to find out what was going on. But a certain percentage was proposed to Laycon’s team and they kicked back at it. And the conversation was just there.”

‘Nobody Icon remix,’ which also featured Joeboy, was released in October 2020 while the music video followed suit the following month.
