Super Eagles Coaching issues will be resolve in 2 weeks – Amaju Pinnick

Amaju Pinnick, the President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), on Sunday in Ibadan said the Super Eagles would have a substantive Head Coach within the next two weeks.
Pinnick told newsmen that the football body was working assiduously to ensure they got a new head coach for the Super Eagles, urging Nigerians to hope for the best.
The NFF President was in Ibadan to watch a 2015/2016 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match.
The NPFL Match Day 24 fixture between hosts Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) and FC IfeanyiUbah Football Club ended in a 2-2 draw.

Pinnick also spoke on the Russia 2018 World Cup Qualifier draws, pointing out that football has come of age and was getting tougher by the day.

“Football has come of age. Peru beat Brazil in Copa America. But I think we have assets that can make the country proud and I believe we will qualify,’’ he said.

The African 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers have the Super Eagles placed in Group B with Cameroon, Algeria and Zambia.

The NFF President said Super Eagles players were excited about facing Algeria and not Egypt, adding that the Federation would do everything possible to support them to qualify.

“We will ensure that we make the difference in all,’’ he said.

Also speaking on the allegation that he was in Ibadan as a guest of FC IfeanyiUbah, Pinnick said he was there to visit his aunt.

“I grew up here and I am a fan of 3SC. I have only come to greet my aunty in Ibadan,’’ he stated.

Pinnick said he was very glad to see football fans come out in their thousands to support 3SC.

“It is a sign of the people’s love for the team and the game,’’ he said.

Pelumi Nubi, the Nigerian travel content creator driving from London to Lagos, says she will continue the journey — despite surviving a car accident.

On Tuesday, Nubi revealed that she was involved in a car accident.

She also shared a picture of the now-wrecked car she had used for the trip.

The front part of the car was severely mangled while the windscreen had also been shattered.

She accompanied the post with the caption: “Say a prayer for me”.

In a post via her Instagram page on Wednesday, Nubi said she “miraculously survived” the accident.

She said she will be “taking things easy” for now and continue her trip when she regains her strength.

“God has really shown His mercy. Miraculously, I emerged unharmed from the accident – I survived,” she said.

“A big thank you for all your love, prayers, and good thoughts! It’s crystal clear to me that I have a family here online, rooting for me every step of the way.

“I am taking it easy for now, but I’m definitely going to keep going. The journey is far from over, and with renewed strength and your unwavering support, I will continue to move forward.”

Nubi was making the trip in a purple Peugeot 107. The vehicle was customised with features that enabled space for sleeping and dining.

It, however, remains unknown which country she was in at the time of the accident and what caused the crash.

In November, Nubi announced her intention to embark on a solo trip from London to Lagos.

She commenced the trip on January 30.

Pelumi had initially announced that she would arrive in Lagos on March 23.

Ninja, Twitch’s top gamer, diagnosed with skin cancer

Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins, the biggest gamer on Twitch, a live streaming service, has been diagnosed with melanoma.

Melanoma is the most dangerous type of skin cancer; it develops from the melanin-producing cells known as melanocytes.

In a post via X, Ninja said Jessica, his wife, scheduled his annual skin check-up, where a mole on his foot was flagged for further examination.

The 32-year-old said the mole was later confirmed to be melanoma, adding that he underwent additional procedures to ensure complete removal.

He also urged his fans to prioritise regular skin cancer screenings.

“Alright I am still in a bit of shock but want to keep you all updated. A few weeks ago I went in to a dermatologist for an annual skin/mole check that Jess proactively scheduled for me,” he wrote.

“There was a mole on the bottom of my foot that they wanted to remove just to be careful. It came back as melanoma, but they are optimistic that we caught it in the early stages.

“I had another dark spot appear near it, so today they biopsied that and removed a larger area around the melanoma with the hopes that under the microscope they will see clear non-melanoma edges and we will know we got it.

“I am grateful to have hope in finding this early, but please take this as a PSA to get skin checkups.”

Ninja, who began streaming in 2011, rose to superstardom with the explosion of Fortnite in late 2017.

His streams, which often feature celebrity guests like Drake and Travis Scott, have drawn record viewership on Twitch.

Ninja’s channel is currently the most followed person on Twitch with over 18 million followers. He has nearly 24 million YouTube followers.

Legendary Nollywood actor, Osita Iheme, fondly known as Pawpaw, has revealed that he is happy with the way his memes are used on social media as a means of expression.

The veteran was recently interviewed by NXT KLTR and expressed pleasure with the use of the clips from his films, stating that it shows his old films still have value.

“It’s good to see that your works are doing well out there and people are appreciating what you are doing,” he said.

He continued, “Even though it has been so many years people are still valuing it years later. It’s good and it shows that you have an asset that you can always back up and bank with. Because when you look at 20 years ago, the works you’ve done and you see that people are using it to express themselves, you’d feel happy. I feel happy. “

Over the past few years, hilarious stickers and memes of the star from his old films have been used widely across social media platforms to add a comic flair to conversations. His funny memes weren’t only used by Nigerians, but also in foreign media, especially during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown era.

It is worthy of note that Iheme is one half of the dynamic Aki and Paw Paw duo, the other half being his partner-in-crime, Chinedu Ikedieze.

The pair starred in numerous movies in their prime like Aki Na Ukwa, Village Rats, and Double Wahala, amongst many other iconic films.

More than 20 years later, they have remained Nollywood household names, hilarious memes, and pop culture icons.
