House Of Reps Summons The Director General Of DSS

Today during a sitting, The house of reps has officially summoned the Director General of the Department of State Security Service (DSS) over last weekend’s crackdown on senior judges across the country.
According to Premium Times, the lawmakers from the lower chamber, also constituted an ad-hoc committee to investigate the clampdown and said they hoped Lawal Daura, the DG of DSS, will appear before it for further explanation.
A lawmaker, Mojeed Alabi, suggested that the House should respect the principles of separation of powers and stay away from the matter, but the House approved the motion nonetheless.
DSS over the weekend conducted a coordinated raid of the houses of various serving Federal high court judges and arrested them but later released them on bail yesterday.
