Big Brother Naija Organisers Gives Post Finale Award To Ex-housemates

Published

on

Big Brother organizers thought they should celebrate the #BBNaija 2019 Pepper Dem Gang for the dose of Pepper they brought to the House with awards.

Each Housemate came with a style unique to them. A style and personality that the viewers came to know and love. What better way to appreciate them than to recognize them for it with an award (although 60 million would have been better, this is all we got so they will have to take it). So let’s get this balling rolling.

See what award your favourite Housemate got.

‘The One That Got Away’ Award: Avala
She left pretty early, so she gets this award.

Foodie Of The Season: Cindy

Her coming late didn’t stop her from clinching this award. She made up for all the meals she missed in the House by constantly having something in her mouth.

She even took her feeding exploits to the Arena as she made sure she had enough takeaway to carry back into the House.

Baby Girl Of The Season: Diane
No one is dragging this award from the Pepper Dem’s sweet darling. The baby faced beauty won the hearts of many and was this close to being a finalist.

‘They All Agreed She Had To Go’ Award: Ella

Ella certainly wasn’t a favourite among the Pepper Dem Gang, so it was no surprise when it was time for Nomination, a lot of them chorused her name.

Most Competitive Housemate: Elozonam

Elozonam always had the need to prove himself during every Task and competition. From the Thursday Task Presentations to the Arena Games, If Elozonam wasn’t going for first place, he was breathing down the neck of the Housemate in first place

Ludo Took Her Shine Award: Enkay
Sucks that this is what Enkay will largely be remembered for in the Pepper Dem House, but it is what it is.

Best Head Of House Award: Esther
No one took charge of the Pepper Dem Gang as the two-time HoH Esther did. With an iron hand, she ruled and willed the usually stubborn Housemates into submission.

Lover Of The Season: Frodd

No one showed so much resilience and commitment to getting his true love. From shedding tears to fighting for love, Frodd showed he wasn’t the one to give up on love.

Most Intimate Housemate of The Year: Gedoni

Not much can be said about Gedoni when in the House, but should discussions about intimate moments come up, his name will be right there on top of the list. Most of the times he trended, it was because he was up to something under the sheets.

Best Faux Gangsta: Ike
We really want to give him the Gangsta of the Season, but gangstas don’t cry, but if he were ever to play a gangsta, he’d do a good job.

‘Most Energetic Housemate Award: Isilomo
Isilomo was full of talent and a bundle of entertainment. Too bad she left so early.

Best Pepper Dem Gladiator: Jackye
Prior to this, she moved in silence like the ‘G’ in lasagna, but we eventually saw a different side of her late into the morning when she aggressively, yet playfully battled Mike with a pillow and a bottle of water on not just one, but two occasions. One time, Biggie had to call her to order. Who knew she had such strength. A word of advice; Never pillow fight Jackye, she has enough energy to go all night long.
HipHop Head of The House: Jeff
He knew his music and he made sure the rest of the Pepper Dem Gang knew too. If Jeff wasn’t entangling himself in the duties of being a pacifist, he was lecturing the other Housemates on rap music.

Most Creative Housemate: Joe
Joe shows his depth when it comes to creativity. His paintings were remarkable and even won them Tasks.

The Queen Of The Diary Session: Khafi
This was her world; the other Housemates were only allowed to play in it. Khafi owned each Diary Session that even the rest of the Housemates started a countdown until she came out.

Stunner of The Season: Kimophrah
She also left early, but that didn’t stop us from catching a glimpse of the beautiful stunner. If any of the pictures we’ve seen of KimOprah outside the House are anything to go by, she’s killing it out there too.

Best Strategist Of The Season: Mercy

She’d tell you she doesn’t have any strategy, but from her dressing to her after-party Drama and relationship with Ike, everything was strategically and meticulously done. Every move was well calculated. Not only did she oust her main competition, she went on to win the Pepper Dem Season

The Classic Man Award: Mike
When Jidenna deems you worthy of being called the Classic Man, then we have no choice than to give it to you. No one embodied the personae of the Classic man like he did

Most Sensual Hands Awards: Nelson
He brought soothing pleasure to the frayed nerves of members of the Pepper Dem Gang with his magic hands.

Outstanding Achievement in The Arena Games: Omashola
Omashola showed true athletism during the Friday Night Arena Gams and for
Meme Gawd Award: Seyi)
No one else came close. He served us memes for days and for that, we are grateful

The Bro Zone Award: Sir Dee
His relationship status outside the House made him a permanent resident in the bro zone. He didn’t seem to mind. He loved it there.

Dance Queen of The Season: Thelma
Thelma was a dancing vibe and she deserves to be the dancing Queen of this season.

The Life of The Party Award: Tuoyo
Give it up to this young stripper. He sure did know how to light up the Saturday Night Party. And just when you thought the Party was losing its steam, he strips bare and suddenly, everywhere gets hot. The Saturday Night Party really missed him after his Eviction.

The Phoenix Award: Venita
Just when it looked like the Pepper Dem Gang were running out of Pepper, guess who came in with all the Pepper? Venita! Just like the Phoenix, the Pepper in the Pepper Dem House rose with her presence.
There you have it! The awards we believe the Pepper Dem Gang deserve. W

‘Police have no role in debt recovery’ — lawyer faults Portable’s arrest

Pelumi Olajengbesi, the Abuja-based legal practitioner, has tackled the police over the arrest and detention of singer Portable over debt allegations.

Portable was arrested by the Lagos state police command for allegedly failing to pay the debt he incurred after purchasing his G-Wagon from a car dealer.

The ‘Zazoo Zeh’ hitmaker was said to have bought the vehicle worth N27 million but paid only N13 million.

Portable allegedly refused to pay the remaining N14 million and whenever the car dealer requested his money, he always claimed the vehicle was having issues.

The singer also jumped over a gate while attempting to evade arrest. He was however caught and forcibly carried by four police officers into a waiting vehicle.

Reacting via Facebook on Wednesday, Olajengbesi said the method of debt recovery employed by the police “blatantly disregarded the country’s laws”.

The lawyer, who represents celebrities like D’banj, Moses Bliss, and Mercy Chinwo, also argued that “indebtedness is not a criminal offense, even the Nigerian government has debts”.

“Although Portable may be troublesome, his arrest and the method of debt recovery employed by the Nigerian Police Force is a blatant disregard to our laws,” he wrote.

“This highlights the deteriorating state of the Nigerian Police force. It’s crucial to note that indebtedness is not a criminal offense, even the Nigerian government has debts.

“The courts have consistently emphasized that the police should refrain from involvement in civil matters such as debt recovery or contractual disputes, unless there are allegations of fraud, such as obtaining under false pretenses, cheating, or criminal breach of trust.

“Section 32(2) of The Police Act 2020, arrests based solely on civil wrongs or breaches of contract are expressly prohibited.

“The Nigerian Police Force reducing its Esteem Globally everyday. And to Portable, resisting arrest is an offence on its own.”

Autopsy failed to reveal cause of Mohbad’s death, says Pathologist

Published

on

By

The result of the autopsy conducted on the body of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad, is said to have been unable to ascertain the cause of his death.

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Wahab Shittu, disclosed this while addressing the press at the coroner’s inquest held in Lagos State on Wednesday.

According to him, the pathologist in charge of the autopsy told the coroner that the deceased’s body had decomposed by the time the test was conducted.

He said, “According to him (pathologist), the cause of death cannot be determined because by the time they conducted the test, the body had decomposed and that it is not possible for them to determine the cause of death. So, in summary, he is saying the cause of death cannot be ascertained. And when you say the cause of death cannot be ascertained, it means it is suspicious, it is not clear. No particular reason.”

According to Shittu, the pathologist further stated that the late singer might have died due to a reaction to certain drugs administered to him before he died.

“He went further to say that he does not know whether it is those drugs that led to the death,” he added.

The senior counsel urged the public not to react sharply to the development, noting that the pathologist who gave the report was an expert.

He also revealed that he had yet to see the full report, adding that the coroner had advised that an application be made to access the document.

Shittu further stated that a date had been fixed to cross-examine the pathologist on the outcome of the autopsy.

He said, “Don’t react until you have seen the full report. As I speak to you, I have not seen the full report. The court has advised that we should apply for the full report. If somebody says this is the final verdict. He must have reasons why he said so. So, look at not only the final verdict but look, also, at the reasons he gave before arriving at the final verdict.

“What is important is that this pathologist has given his evidence today and we have taken a day to cross-examine and ask him questions on the report. Until those questions are asked, we cannot say this is the outcome.”

Mohbad, a former record label signee of Marlian Music owned by Naira Marley, died on September 12 at the age of 27, with the circumstances surrounding his death sparking controversy on social media.

The Lagos State Police Command however inaugurated a 13-man special investigation team to probe the death on September 18, 2023.

His death also led to the arrest of Naira Marley and controversial Lagos socialite, Balogun Eletu, aka Sam Larry, amongst others.

His corpse was exhumed on September 21, 2023, for an autopsy to unravel the cause of his death.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, tweeted in September 2023 that an autopsy had been concluded and the police were “awaiting results.”
