David Hinds accuses Burna Boy of disrespecting Reggae band at German festival
David ‘Electric’ Hinds, the lead singer and guitarist of Steel Pulse, has called out Burna Boy for allegedly disrespecting the Grammy award-winning Reggae band, at a German festival.
The 2024 Summer Jam Festival was held in Germany from July 5 to 7.
The event headliners were Burna Boy and Jamaican artistes such as Skillibeng, Konshens, Busy Signal, Lila Ike, Beenie Man, and Ky-Mani Marley.
In a comment beneath an Instagram post about the festival, Hinds claimed Burna Boy arrived at the event with a large entourage and demanded additional dressing rooms to accommodate his team.
He accused the Afrofusion singer of attempting to force him and fellow Steel Pulse members out of their dressing room.
Hinds argued that Burna Boy and his crew’s behaviour cannot be a part of Reggae’s culture, which promotes peace, love, and unity.
The reggae artiste also criticised the festival organisers for allowing his band to be “bullied” by Burna Boy’s security team.
“Burna Boy and security crew fully disrespected us at Steel Pulse, trying to kick us out of our dressing room so he could have 4 dressing rooms for his massive entourage,” he wrote.
“Selwyn Brown, original member of Steel Pulse, was livid and our team stood our ground and told them to beat it and you can’t do that to people, especially to a band that has paved the way for Reggae music.
“Summer Jam why do you have a full security team that think they can come in and bully people? Who the hell does Burna Boy think he is?
“And because of us refusing to leave, the security team proceeded to build a barricade of a blacked out chain linked fence that split the hallway between our dressing room and his dressing room making it feel like we were in prison or something.
“I hope that these legendary reggae festivals realize that this can’t be apart of the reggae culture. That’s Babylon business. We don’t treat people like that.
“Please recognise this because Steel Pulse was fully disrespected. Reggae promotes Peace, Love, Unity.. stand up for your rights, we must never give up the fight.”
As of the time of this report, neither Burna Boy nor the organisers of Summer Jam have responded to the allegations.

Davido shuns Wizkid’s rants, unveils second Puma collection
Davido, the Afrobeats star, has unveiled his second collection with sportswear giant Puma at the brand’s flagship store in New York.
The partnership, announced last year, has yielded two successful collections — the first in April — with the latest featuring sportswear items such as t-shirts, sneakers, jackets, and bags.
At the launch event, hosted by Rolling Stone reporter Mankaprr Conteh, Davido shared his humble beginnings, saying his initial goal was to have his music played on Nigerian radio.
On the second collection, the singer said: “You know the first collection, we were just testing the waters. Because it was a risk for them. Yes, people love my music, but it is different from people love your music and people buy your products”.
The development comes at about the same time when Wizkid reignited their rift — after Davido announced his first single of 2024.
The ‘Made In Lagos’ hitmaker also taunted Ademola Adeleke, Davido’s uncle who is governor of Osun state.
Responding to one of Davido’s supporters, Wizkid claimed he declined the deal Puma offered him because “they could no longer afford to pay me”.
”U idiot! I turned down Puma cos they could no longer afford to pay me cos I wanted more! Don’t need dat! Way bigger than every artiste u just mentioned! Not jealous ! love em all…With ur dirty ass shirt! Idiot!” Wizkid wrote on X.
Wizkid argued that rejecting the offer showed he was bigger than the ‘Unavailable’ hitmaker.
Davido, who has been active on social media, appeared to have ignored Wizkid, with the former failing to respond to the latter’s tweets.

‘You don’t see my uncle dancing online’ — Wizkid taunts Davido, Adeleke
The long-standing feud between Wizkid and Davido seems far from over with the former taunting the latter’s family member.
The ‘Made In Lagos’ hitmaker reignited their rift on Tuesday after Davido announced his first single of 2024.
The ‘Assurance’ singer revealed the track will be in celebration of Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day.
Wizkid responded with criticism, questioning Davido’s talent and comparing their musical catalogues.
In a fresh rant on X, Wizkid taunted Ademola Adeleke, Davido’s uncle fondly called the ‘dancing governor’.
Wizkid mocked the Osun governor for his numerous dance videos online. He also implied that the Adeleke family “lacks a proper upbringing”.
“When you see people wey dem papa and family train you go know! You don’t see my uncle dancing online,” he wrote in Pidgin English.

Davido, who has been active on social media, appeared to have ignored Wizkid, with the former failing to respond to the latter’s tweets.
In May, a fight ensued between Davido and Wizkid on X after the ‘Ojuelegba’ hitmaker mocked him and Don Jazzy, the Mavin Records head honcho.
Wizkid referred to Don Jazzy as an “influencer” while taunting Davido with a video of him on his knees, pleading and crying after a fan asked him to release new music.
The singer’s posts attracted criticism from a segment of social media users, including celebrities.
Davido also retaliated, labeling Wizkid’s career as “dead”.

Davido keeps mum as Wizkid calls him ‘untalented, wack nigga’
Wizkid has reignited his long-standing rivalry with Davido, sparking a heated exchange with fans on social media.
The drama started on Tuesday after Davido announced his first single of 2024. The singer revealed the track will be a hit celebrating Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day.
However, the ‘Ojuelegba’ hitmaker, who seemed unimpressed, took to his X page to write: “P***y boys dropping mid again,” adding, “Una don tire! Make una go rest small! 🦅”.

Although he did not mention the name of his colleague, fans interpreted the tweet as a direct shot at Davido.
A fan of Davido, however, fired back, accusing Wizkid of chasing clout using the name of the ‘Assurance’ hitmaker.
The user wrote: “So if you no beef @davido your song won’t sell??” Responding, Wizkid said: “I don’t beef wack niggas! We all know he’s wack! No talent! 🦅”

Wizkid’s response and follow-up tweets implied his messages were aimed towards Davido.

Still unsatisfied, Wizkid dismissed Davido’s extensive discography as “trash,” arguing that his catalogue boasts superior songs.
He continued: “80 trash ! We got 80 albums for any song y’all drop! P***y boys! ❤️🦅.”
Davido, who is also active on social media, appeared to have ignored Wizkid, with the former failing to respond to the latter’s tweets.
