Why I prioritise global standards in my films – Bolanle Austen-Peters
Bolanle Austen-Peters, the Nollywood producer, has revealed why she is committed to maintaining global standards in her productions.
In a recent chat on Channels’ Rubbin Minds, Austen-Peters discussed the stark contrast in financial investments between Nigeria and other parts of the world, where billions are spent to ensure high-quality content.
The movie producer said she focuses on pursuing global standards because she understands the global reach and impact of quality filmmaking.
“If you see what happens in other parts of the world, they spend billions of dollars to give you the content and the quality that they give you for you to chew,” she said.
“In Nigeria, we have to get to the point where we choose not to compromise. We cannot compromise talents. We cannot think that we are operating for a local audience. The world is smaller.
“Everything you do here is seen across many oceans in nanoseconds. I am not operating with the mindset that this is local. I am operating with a mindset that whatever I do must have that global standard of excellence in it.”
