Super Eagles of Nigeria beat Tunisia 3-2 to qualify for AFCON Round of 16

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have qualified for the last 16 of the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

 

The Nigerian stars defeated Tunisia 3-2 on Saturday night at Fez Stadium with goals from Victor Osimhen, Wilfried Ndidi, and Ademola Lookman, ensuring the team’s qualification from their group.

 

Victor Osimhen opened the scoring in the 44th minute through a cross from Ademola Lookman just before halftime. In the 50th minute, the team captain, Widfred Ndidi doubled the lead in the 50th minute, again assisted by Lookman.

 

Lookman added a third goal in the 70th minute, following an assist from Osimhen.

 

Meanwhile, Tunisia pulled one back through Montassar Talbi, before a late penalty was converted by Ali Al-Abdi.

 

The outcome means Nigeria has six points from two matches, while Tunisia remains second with three points.
