Participants of the Senior Executive Course 48 of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, Kaduna State, drawn from Nigeria and allied countries including Ghana, Benin and Chad, have arrived in Jigawa State for a strategic study tour focused on security, governance and community engagement.

The delegation, led by the Commandant of the college, Alfred Olugbenga Shogbanmu, was received at the Government House, Dutse, by the Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi.

The foreign and Nigerian military officers are participating in the Senior Executive Course 48 programme of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to the governor, Shogbanmu said Jigawa was deliberately selected for the study tour because of its reputation as one of the most peaceful and secure states in the country.

He commended the state government for sustaining a peaceful atmosphere, promoting hospitality and encouraging strong community participation capable of enhancing national security initiatives.

“Anytime Jigawa State is mentioned, the general response is always that Jigawa is peaceful, stable and welcoming,” the Commandant stated.

According to him, the annual Nigerian Study Tour is designed to expose participants to practical realities of governance, security management and socio-economic development across selected states of the federation.

He explained that this year’s exercise is centred on the theme: “Promoting Community Engagement for Enhanced National Security and Prosperity.”

Shogbanmu added that the institution regularly assigns participants to critically examine pressing national issues and develop practical policy recommendations aimed at addressing emerging security and governance challenges.

Responding, Governor Namadi reaffirmed the commitment of the Jigawa State Government to sustaining peace, strengthening national unity, enhancing security and promoting sustainable development across the state.

The governor expressed appreciation to the leadership of the military institution for choosing Jigawa for the strategic exercise and commended the Commandant for personally leading the delegation to the state.

“Your presence here today demonstrates the confidence you have in Jigawa State, and I want to assure you that the government and people of the state truly appreciate this gesture,” Namadi said.
