Tupac murder convict Keffe D reportedly faced multiple jail violations before trial

Duane “Keffe D” Davis, the man convicted in connection with the 1996 killing of legendary rapper Tupac Shakur, reportedly accumulated several disciplinary violations while being held in jail ahead of his murder trial.

Davis had been detained at the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas following his arrest in September 2023 in connection with Shakur’s death.

According to reports, jail records showed that Davis was involved in multiple disciplinary incidents while awaiting trial, including allegations of fighting with another inmate and possessing prohibited items.

The incidents reportedly resulted in disciplinary action during his time in custody.

Davis was eventually convicted of first-degree murder over Shakur’s September 1996 killing in Las Vegas.

Although prosecutors did not accuse Davis of personally firing the shots that killed the rapper, they argued that he helped orchestrate the attack and supplied the weapon used in the shooting.

Shakur was shot while travelling in a vehicle with Death Row Records co-founder Marion “Suge” Knight following a Mike Tyson boxing match at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The rapper died six days later at the age of 25.

The case remained unsolved for nearly three decades before Davis became the first person to be charged in connection with the killing.

Davis had previously spoken publicly about the shooting in interviews and in his memoir, statements that later became significant evidence in the case.
