American singer Lady Gaga and her fiancé, Michael Polansky, welcomed their first child through a surrogate, according to new reports.

The couple’s baby girl, named Rose Bean Polansky, was born on June 9 in Los Angeles, according to birth details reported by TMZ.

Gaga and Polansky’s transition into parenthood had initially been reported without details about how their child was born.

People previously confirmed that the Grammy-winning singer and her fiancé had welcomed their first baby together.

The latest report says the child was born via surrogate.

Neither Gaga nor Polansky has publicly explained their reasons for choosing surrogacy, and no assumptions should be made about the couple’s private medical or personal circumstances.

The 40-year-old singer has previously spoken publicly about her desire to become a mother.

Gaga and Polansky began dating around 2020 and became engaged in 2024.

Polansky, an entrepreneur and investor, has also collaborated creatively with Gaga and received songwriting and production credits connected with some of her recent work.

The couple have largely kept their family life private and have spent time away from the spotlight following their daughter’s arrival.
