Troops rescue six kidnapped victims in Kaduna, Katsina
Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have rescued six kidnapped victims during separate operations in Kaduna and Katsina states.
The Nigerian Army said the operations were carried out on September 17 following intelligence reports and distress calls concerning abductions in the two states.
Three victims were rescued in Kaduna after troops operating in Igabi Local Government Area encountered suspected terrorists moving with their captives.
The suspected kidnappers abandoned the victims and fled when they saw the troops.
The rescued victims were identified as Enock Hussaini, Abba Dauda and Kalif Haruna.
According to the Army, they had been abducted from Gidan Gulbi village on September 11 and were later reunited with their families.
In a separate operation in Katsina State, troops responded to a distress call concerning an abduction along the Dandume-Damari axis.
The soldiers engaged the suspected kidnappers, who fled into surrounding bushes and abandoned three captives.
The rescued men were identified as Abubakar Abdulkadir, 25; Mansir Idris, 26; and Abubakar Aliyu, 21.
Troops also recovered a vehicle belonging to the victims.
The Army said Operation FANSAN YAMMA would continue operations against kidnapping and other security threats across the North-West.
