Adeyanju Hails Fubaras Commitment to Legal Integrity

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, the esteemed Governor of Rivers State, for his unwavering commitment to upholding the rule of law. His recent actions in response to the Supreme Court ruling on local government administration are truly commendable.

Governor Fubara’s decision to instruct the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) to conduct fresh elections for the local government councils, as well as appointing Heads of Local Government Administration to oversee the 23 LGAs on an interim basis, showcases his dedication to constitutional order and democratic values. His directive for outgoing local government chairmen to transfer power by Monday, March 3, 2025, in compliance with the Supreme Court’s ruling against caretaker arrangements, is a bold and praiseworthy move.

It is evident that Governor Fubara places the welfare of the people of Rivers State above all else, despite the distractions and political challenges orchestrated by detractors. The entire nation stands in support of Your Excellency as you continue to lead with integrity and purpose.

I urge Governor Fubara to remain resolute and focused on his mission to serve and uplift the citizens of Rivers State. While the political landscape may shift and obstacles may arise, I implore him to stand firm and unwavering. The people of Nigeria have faith in his ability to navigate the complexities of governance and overcome any forces that seek to hinder the progress of Rivers State.

It is imperative that former Governor Nyesom Wike, who has chosen to act against the interests of the people, be dealt with decisively. Governor Fubara must ensure that Wike understands that his self-serving actions will not be tolerated at the expense of the collective good. Rivers State deserves a leader who prioritizes the well-being of its citizens above personal gain.

As Nigerians, we have full confidence that by 2027, you will emerge even stronger, more determined, and fully equipped to overcome any opposition, particularly from Nyesom Wike, in the best interest of all Rivers people. Your leadership serves as a beacon of hope, and we stand firmly behind you. Governor Fubara, we urge you to stay true to your principles, remain steadfast, and continue to work tirelessly for the benefit of the people of Rivers. The nation is watching, and history will remember you favorably for your courage and dedication.
