From Pogba to Benzema: High-profile players available as free agents
Several high-profile footballers remain without clubs following the close of the transfer window, with several established stars now available to sign as free agents as reported by Fabrizio Romano on X on Wednesday.
Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is among the biggest names on the list, alongside England winger Jadon Sancho.
Experienced defenders Dani Carvajal, Sergio Ramos and David Alaba are also available, offering clubs the opportunity to add considerable experience to their squads.
Former France striker Karim Benzema is another major name still on the market. The veteran forward has enjoyed a decorated career at the highest level and remains one of the most recognisable players available without a transfer fee.
Other notable free agents include Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho, Ivory Coast midfielder Yves Bissouma and England winger Raheem Sterling.
Former Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez, Ukrainian defender Oleksandr Zinchenko and Ivory Coast forward Wilfried Zaha are also among the players currently looking for new clubs.
Croatia international Marcelo Brozović and Portugal midfielder Renato Sanches complete the list of notable free agents.
With these players available without a transfer fee, clubs looking to strengthen their squads could still make significant additions by negotiating contracts with the free agents.
