Luis Diaz backs Harry Kane to win 2026 Ballon d’Or
Bayern Munich winger Luis Diaz has backed teammate Harry Kane to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or, praising the England captain’s consistency and performances.
Diaz and Kane are among the 30 players shortlisted for this year’s award.
Speaking about the race for the prestigious individual honour, Diaz said he respects differing opinions but believes Kane deserves to win.
The Colombian international pointed to two main reasons for his support: Kane’s long-standing status among the world’s leading players and his outstanding performances during the previous season.
Diaz said Kane had demonstrated his quality over many years and described his latest campaign as exceptional.
Kane is one of four Bayern Munich players on the 2026 Ballon d’Or shortlist alongside Diaz, Michael Olise and Dayot Upamecano.
Bayern have also publicly backed Kane’s candidacy, with several players speaking in support of the England striker.
The winner is expected to be announced at the Ballon d’Or ceremony on October 26.
Kane is competing against a field that includes several leading players from across Europe and international football
