Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has named separate 24-man squads for Nigeria’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau and an international friendly against Russia.
The Nigeria Football Federation confirmed that the Super Eagles will begin their AFCON qualifying campaign against Madagascar at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on September 25 before travelling to face Guinea-Bissau on September 29.
Nigeria will then play Russia in an international friendly at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium on October 6.
Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, Stanley Nwabali, Samuel Chukwueze and Moses Simon are among the established names selected for the two competitive qualifiers.
Goalkeepers Arthur Okonkwo and Maduka Okoye join Nwabali, while defenders include Calvin Bassey, Ola Aina, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Benjamin Fredricks and Semi Ajayi.
Midfield options include Ndidi, Iwobi, Frank Onyeka and Raphael Onyedika.
Osimhen leads an attacking group containing Lookman, Chukwueze, Simon, Akor Adams, Tolu Arokodare, George Ilenikhena and Moses Usor.
Ilenikhena, Usor and Portugal-based defender Isaac James are among players receiving their first senior call-ups.
Chelle made several changes for the Russia friendly, although captain Ndidi, Nwabali, Osayi-Samuel, Onyedika, Simon and Akor Adams remain involved.
Kelechi Iheanacho returns for the friendly, while a number of less-established players including Michael Atata, Samuel James, Kenneth Igboke, Victory Akpe and Ridwan Abdulrasaq have been selected.
The Russia match will give Chelle an opportunity to assess additional options after the two competitive AFCON qualifiers
