Angela Eguavoen explains why she believes ‘all men cheat’

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Angela Eguavoen has opened up about her views on relationships and infidelity, saying she believes that all men cheat.

Eguavoen made the comments during an interview with PUNCH, where she discussed her acting career, filmmaking, relationships and marriage.

According to the actress, her belief is partly a way of emotionally preparing herself for the possibility of discovering that a partner has been unfaithful.

Eguavoen acknowledged that men often challenge her view by insisting that not every man cheats, but said she has chosen to maintain the belief as a personal coping mechanism.

She added that she would not react violently or do something she might regret if she discovered that a partner had cheated.

The actress said that, in her view, anyone who chooses to be unfaithful should at least avoid humiliating or disrespecting their partner publicly

Eguavoen also spoke about marriage, saying she is not desperate to get married and believes relationships should happen naturally rather than as a result of societal pressure.

She said she would be comfortable whether marriage eventually becomes part of her life or not.

The filmmaker also discussed changes in Nollywood, arguing that popularity and social-media numbers have become increasingly important in casting and film promotion.

While acknowledging that producers need commercially successful projects, Eguavoen said talent should remain central to the industry’s growth.
