Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has signed a new contract that will keep him at the Premier League club until June 2030.

Arsenal confirmed the extension on Wednesday after weeks of reports that negotiations over a new agreement were nearing completion.

Arteta’s key backroom staff are also expected to remain with the club, providing continuity to the coaching structure at the Emirates Stadium.

Arteta extends Arsenal project

The Spaniard took charge of Arsenal in December 2019 after previously serving as an assistant to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

He won the FA Cup during his first season and subsequently rebuilt Arsenal into regular contenders near the top of the Premier League.

Arteta also guided Arsenal back into the UEFA Champions League after a six-year absence.

Reuters reported that he led Arsenal to their first Premier League title in 22 years during the previous season.

The new agreement gives Arsenal long-term stability as the club continues competing for major domestic and European trophies.

Arteta said remaining at Arsenal was a privilege and praised the club’s identity and ambition following confirmation of the extension.
