Tegbe begins Oyo APC mobilisation for Tinubu, party candidates ahead of 2027
Minister of Power Joseph Tegbe has begun a statewide mobilisation drive among All Progressives Congress members in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Tegbe launched the initiative in Ibadan with meetings involving party leaders, executives and community stakeholders from Ibadan South-East and Ibadan North Local Government Areas.
He called on APC members to strengthen grassroots organisation and support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign alongside other candidates fielded by the party.
Tegbe’s position as Minister of Power is also confirmed by the Federal Ministry of Power and the Presidency’s current cabinet listing.
Tegbe calls for APC unity in Oyo
The minister urged members to take political mobilisation to wards and polling units across the state.
He argued that APC’s prospects would depend on party unity, grassroots engagement and its ability to persuade voters to support continuity under the Tinubu administration.
Those comments represent Tegbe’s political assessment and campaign position, not an independent prediction of the election outcome.
He also called for support for the APC’s other candidates in Oyo.
The party has already unveiled Senator Sharafadeen Alli as its governorship candidate for the 2027 election.
INEC’s final candidate list released this month also includes Alli among 16 candidates cleared for the Oyo governorship contest.
Power minister highlights Oyo electrification projects
Tegbe used the meetings to highlight ongoing and proposed Federal Government power projects in Oyo State.
He said solar mini-grids were planned for several locations, while electrification projects in Ogbomoso, Oke-Ogun and Ibarapa were approaching completion.
The minister said the projects were intended to improve electricity access and support economic activity in affected communities.
He also expressed optimism that reforms in the power sector would improve electricity supply.
Those assessments should be presented as Tegbe’s claims as minister and political campaign arguments, rather than BodexNG independently declaring that the reforms have already achieved their stated results.
