Makinde appoints Akinwale Akinwole as new Chief of Staff
Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has appointed Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole, popularly known as Wolekanle, as his new Chief of Staff following the resignation of Segun Ogunwuyi.
Makinde also approved the appointment of Aderonke Adedayo as Director-General of the Oyo State Due Process Office.
The appointments take immediate effect, according to letters signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde.
Akinwole replaces Ogunwuyi
Akinwole previously served as Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission before his latest appointment.
He takes over from Ogunwuyi, who resigned earlier on Monday, October 12.
Ogunwuyi said in his resignation letter that he was grateful for the opportunity to serve the state and expressed confidence in Oyo’s continued progress. He did not state a specific reason for leaving the government.
His departure came amid a series of changes within Makinde’s administration in recent months.
Adedayo named Due Process DG
Aderonke Adedayo, meanwhile, will head the state’s Due Process Office.
She currently serves as Special Adviser to the governor on General Intervention and Donor Agencies and will retain that position while taking on her new responsibilities.
Makinde congratulated both appointees and urged them to carry out their duties with commitment and dedication to the state.
The appointments were announced only hours after Ogunwuyi’s resignation became public.
