Aregbe Idris becomes chairman of AIM Festival

The Cheif Executive Officer of Culturati , Aregbe Idris , has been appointed as the chairman of Africa International Music Festival .
The inauguration , which was held at the Radisson Blu Anchorage Hotel , Victoria Island, Lagos , was also an avenue for the appointment of committee members for the highly anticipated 2019 edition of the AIM Festival.
Speaking on the achievements of the founder of AIM Festival , Aregbe said , “It will be a grave error if I fail to appreciate Otunba Wanle Akinboboye , the continent builder . He is a man who saw opportunities in a vast and idle land and transformed it into a getaway destination for those looking to savour the beauty of nature .
“ As a cultural reformer , I will always do my best to put Africa first and project our heritage to the world , because Africa is home to me and there is no better treasure than the ones rooted in our rich cultural diversity . ”
He urged the festival committee to share ideas , strategies and give their best to make this year ’ s event a remarkable experience .
Meanwhile , Akinboboye stressed that the AIM Festival was the only way Africans could begin the process of catching up with other continents.
“ Africans need to form collaborations in order to better the continent through music , cuisine , fashion and many more .
“ We created this movement and here, we are handing over to the younger generations to build on the foundations that we laid. I am certain beyond doubts that the new chairman will keep the fire of our culture burning , ” Akinboboye added .
Among the organising committee members of the 2019 edition are an American artiste , Akon ; an Italian Fashion Designer , Senait Mario ; an international PR and Marketing guru , Madonna Momoh; a ICT consultant , Funke Banigo ; the President and CEO , Legendary Gold Limited , Lexy Mojo – Eyes; a music producer , Wole Oni ; event consultant , Jennifer Odufuwa and Funke Adu .
The AIM Festival is a week -long event scheduled to hold in December . Musicians and different entertainers from 54 African countries , 13 countries in the Caribbean and three countries from South America will be invited .
