Research has shown that the peel and seed of okro with the botanical name “Abelmoschus esculentus”, commonly called okra or Lady’s fingers in English, possess blood glucose normalisation and lipid profiles capable of lowering action in diabetic conditions. Researchers also observed that okra kills human breast cancer cells outright, while men eating okra experienced 40 per cent less prostate cancer.
