Romelu Lukaku mourns as father, Roger Lukaku, passes away at 58
Napoli and Belgium striker, Romelu Lukaku, has been thrown into mourning following the death of his father, Roger Lukaku, who passed away at the age of 58.
The football star, who is currently battling an injury, cleared his entire Instagram page and left behind only one emotional tribute to his late dad.
“Thank you for teaching me everything I know. I’m forever grateful and appreciate you. Life will never be the same. Protecting and guiding me like no one else could. I won’t be the same. The pain and tears are flowing big time, but God will give me the strength to get myself back together,” Lukaku wrote.
Fans and the football community have since flooded the comment section with prayers and words of encouragement as the 31-year-old striker grieves his loss.
Roger Lukaku, who was also a professional footballer during his time, played a huge role in shaping Romelu’s career — something the Napoli forward never failed to acknowledge.
