RRS Arrest 8 With Machetes And Axes As Cult Groups Lay Seige In Mushin To Battle For Supremacy
Residents of Idi-Oro community in the Mushin area of Lagos State have been thrown into a panic with many of them scampering for safety after rival cult groups engaged in a fight for supremacy.
In a series of tweets from the official Twitter handle of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the State Police Command which was called in to restore peace to the community, the crisis broke out in the early hours of Monday, April 24, 2017, as the hoodlums took advantage of the situation to set shops on fire before looting them.
According to the RRS, the gangs had reportedly stormed Alamutu Street, from Akala Elegba and looted the shops after chasing the owners away.
After looting the shops, they set them ablaze before moving to the next shop on the street.
