The Afrobeats is set induct its first-ever hall of fame members — an initiative aimed at celebrating artistes and other contributors to the creation of music across Africa.

According to NAN, organisers of the event announced the development in a statement in Abuja yesterday.

The statement said the initiative will be the first of its kind induction and award ceremony created to recognise and celebrate the historic and cultural significance of Afro music.

“The ABHF honours the artistry and the contributions made by those who have played major roles in the dissemination and creation of music in the Nigerian entertainment industry and Africa at large,” it said.

The statement also said that a media parley would hold on November 11 as a prelude to the main event which had been slated to hold before the end of 2021.

“The media parley which brings together key stakeholders in the music and media industry, will feature a fireside chat with leading names,” it added.

“With media representatives from across TV, radio, print and digital platforms in attendance, the parley will among other things, shed more light on the upcoming Afrobeat Hall of Fame induction ceremony scheduled for the end of the year.”

Oritsefemi, the Nigerian singer, has revealed what transpired between him and Nabila Fash, his estranged wife.

The couple tied the knot in 2017. In 2021, their marriage faced a crisis over allegations of infidelity.

Fash later accused the singer of “constant cheating, verbal and emotional abuse”.

She claimed Oritsefemi has children out of wedlock with the excuse of wanting a boy child.

She also alleged that the singer physically assaulted her twice in their relationship.

The ‘Igbeyawo’ hitmaker, however, denied the allegations.

In a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo, Oritsefemi shared his opinion on the conflict in their marriage.

The 39-year-old singer claimed Fash had “21 miscarriages” but still held him responsible for their inability to have children.

Oritsefemi also alleged that she sent about twenty of her friends to beat him up in his house.

“Nabila had 21 miscarriages and she still dey tell me Oritsefemi say I no fit impregnate am,” he said in pidgin English.

“My wife asked her friends to come and beat me up in my house. I said, ‘Look at me o; a whole me, lion na him women dey pursue’.

“Dem reach like 20. Dem beat me o and no be say na lie.”

In 2022, Fash disclosed that she filed for divorce from Oritsefemi.

“It became important for my sanity and mental health to take a decision that wasn’t easy. But he isn’t accepting,” she said.
