‘Stop showing off, be friendly’ — Israel Adesanya calls out Lagos women
Israel Adesanya, the Nigerian-New Zealand professional mixed martial artist, has criticised Lagos-based women, labeling them “unfriendly”.
In a now-viral video, Adesanya, who arrived in Lagos with his family on August 21, registered his observations about women’s “inhospitable behaviour” in Lagos.
The 35-year-old professional fighter also advised Lagos women to be more genuine and approachable.
“Lagos girls are doing shakara that even the majority of them are prostitutes; they should just be nice and reply hi,” Adesanya said.

His comment has, however, ignited a wave of mixed reactions on social media platforms, especially X.
