Tiwa Savage drops ‘Water & Garri’ EP
Tiwa Savage, the Nigerian singer, has put out ‘Water & Garri’, her long-touted extended play (EP).
The R&B songstress came through with the project, which is a follow-up to her 2020 ‘Celia’ album, as scheduled today.

‘Water & Garri’ unifies Tiwa’s global influences — gleaned from spending her primary years in Lagos, teenage years in London, and attending university in the United States — into a collage of R&B, soul, Afrobeats, and pop.
Named after garri, the staple cassava dish that is enjoyed hot or cold, ‘Water & Garri’ is released in two parts.
It mashes together sounds and styles of global collaborators with her own heartfelt sound.
On the track ‘Somebody’s Son’, the songstress ruminates on a love to come alongside Brandy, a US singer. For ‘Tales by Moonlight’, Tiwa taps Amaarae, a Ghanaian, on a sound merging ’90s house with African rhythms.

This half of the two-part EP also brings aboard Nas and Rich King (‘Work Fada’) and Tay Iwar (‘Special Kinda’).
